ADDY® AWARDS

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation, the ADDYs® are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in the art of advertising. Every year approximately 60,000 entries are submitted in local ADDY® competitions.
All across the country, local entrants are vying for recognition as the very best in their markets. Local winners then compete against other winners within their regions in one of 14 District competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the National ADDY® Awards competition. Entry in the LAF ADDY® competition is the first step toward winning a National ADDY®.
Entering the ADDY® competition supports our entire industry, because the AAF and its local and district affiliates use the proceeds to enhance advertising through programs such as public service, internships, advocacy groups, advertising education, and consumer awareness.
The competition begins with a call for entries in late December, then selection of the most creative entry in each category is effected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluate all creative dimensions of every entry. In each category, a GOLD ADDY® is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition. Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive a SILVER ADDY®. The number of awards given in each category is determined by the judges, based on their opinions of the quality of work in that category.
The Addy awards presentation takes place in February, during the annual ADDY awards ceremony. Tickets for this event can be purchased by contacting Jeromy Price at jeromy.price@whatifcreative.com

Advertising Education Sponsor (AES)
The Advertising Education Sponsor program, better known as AES, enables the District to field better equipped and better trained College Chapter teams to compete in the National Student Advertising Competition. Teams from the 10th District have won six national titles since the beginning of NSAC in 1973. Members of the Amarillo Advertising Federation were instrumental in developing the AES program.
Any individual or company can become an Advertising Education Sponsor by donating $75, $150, $300 or a lifetime donation of $1,500. This money is needed each year by the District, and funds are solicited annually to support their program. Donations are tax deductible.
